Dear Students,

The University Institute of Pharmacy started in 2001, with a mission of training pharmacists at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This was necessitated by the realization that Chhattisgarh needed to upgrade Pharmaceutical education and services to national standards. The first batch of students was admitted in July 2001 to pursue the four year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) degree course of the University. University Institute of Pharmacy aspires to be a center of excellence providing education of the highest quality and standards. Right from its inception, our thrust has been to provide higher standards of education in Pharmacy, and, thus, enabling our students to achieve professional competence.

The Institute offers an environment conducive to the intellectual, moral and physical development of our students. The team of dedicated, experienced and highly qualified teachers, through motivation, counseling and training are preparing our students to meet the professional challenges of the modern era. It is through their collaborative efforts that we have developed and continue to progress in realising the goals and objectives in not only Teaching and Learning but in Research too. It has created a niche for itself in the field of pharmacy education. It has also acquired the mandatory approval and recognition of all national bodies and agencies. The curriculum is designed to deliver a course that meets the educational needs of pharmacy students in the context of the community, preparing them to the pharma professions, expected to be practiced in the 21st Century.

I welcome yet another generation of budding pharma professionals to the University Institute of Pharmacy, which through its focused programmes, has established a position in the forefront of the pharma academia, industry and health care. I am sure that the students, who seek admission at the University Institute of Pharmacy, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, would be able to fulfill their ambition of getting high quality education. The University on its part will leave no stone unturned for making this dream a reality. I wish the students a very happy and satisfying stay at the University.
